You have to have attended at least one of our pool sessions for this trip unless you already have your Canoeing Ireland Kayak Skills Level 2 award. 

Full rental gear and qualified Canoeing Ireland instructors are included in the ticket price of only €10. Sign-up is required! More details on where to get your ticket will follow.

An information night for any of our members interested in competing at the Irish Kayaking Intervarsity Competition in February

Following the success from our previous Bunmahon trip, we have decided to make a return! That's right! Bunmahon pt. 2!

We will be returning to the lovely 'Greenway and Copper Coast Hostel' right next to the waterfront to make it as easy as possible for hauling around all the gear for a cheeky bit of kayak-surfing!

We will be leaving Friday afternoon (15th of November) from the DCU Sports Grounds (for anyone who's been attending the pool sessions it'll be the same pickup spot) and coming back Sunday evening (17th of November) to DCU. The trip will cost 50 euro, which covers:

-Accommodation

-Travel

-Kayaking Gear

-Memories to be made (and/or forgotten!)

What to bring for sure:

-Wetsuit if you have one (if not one will be provided)

-Warm clothes!

-Some spare change for the food shop/pub/meals eaten out

-Fancy dress (keep an eye on our socials!)

-good humor and craic!

We will stop on the way down for a big food shop (and beverages), but maybe bring some *hydration* for the bus up, if you want. We have a Dress-up Theme for the Saturday night party where the theme will be announced closer to the date!

This is a social event for all Dublin kayak/canoe college clubs. This is a way of sharing trip ideas, kayaking tactics, and most importantly introducing the freshers into kayaking society. This mixer will be a Halloween party to help break the ice and get people mingling!

We want to make the club sociable on and off the water! It is also a chance for people who haven't made it to the weekly pool sessions to get to know us and what we do :)

This is a White Water Development Day organised by UL. Experienced kayakers only.                        

On Saturday, the 5th of October, DCU Canoe Club will be holding our annual Freshers Trip to Malahide. We will meet at 10 am at the container behind the Library (Container Location Link HERE ). We plan to leave for Malahide at 10:30 am sharp to be in Malahide at 11:00, so we need everyone to be bang on time; otherwise, you may be left behind. We will provide lifts to and from Malahide from the container on the day and should be back at the container around 17:30

What should I bring?

• All we ask you to bring for the water is a pair of swimming shorts, a rash vest (or old t-shirt) and booties (or old runners).
• Boats, paddles, wetsuits, cags, buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided to you on the day. 
• You should also bring a towel, a spare pair of clothes and a bag to hold everything.
• Some coffee/tea may also be excellent for after the cold water

You do not need any experience kayaking before this trip but you have to have been to at least one pool session beforehand! We will teach all the basics to get you going and play a few chill games that utilise the skills we teach on the day. We ask that you only come if you are a capable swimmer and have paid your membership fee.

An intercollegiate sporting event, where each canoe/kayak club comes together to compete in a number of events over the weekend. 

This year’s Intervarsities will be hosted by University of Galway. 

We will be competing in all events which include: Whitewater race, Freestyle, Polo, Long Distance and Boater Cross.

We will be competing in all events which include: Whitewater, Freestyle, Polo, Long Distance and Boater Cross.

We will meet at our containers behind the Glasnevin Library at 9:00am on the Friday to get our bus to the competitions! Returning on Sunday evening!

With 3 days of events, nights out and meeting other college paddlers its sure to be a great weekend!

Our first river trip of 2023 we're heading out to Sluice in Lucan to practice our skills before competing at varsities. Supervised by a Canoeing Ireland instructor we'll be taking our members out to Sluice in Lucan to spend some time out on the river before competing later in the month. For our members that wont be coming to varsities or have only been to pool sessions before its a great opportunity to come out and get a feel for kayaking out on moving water!!!

This is a social event for all the kayak/canoe college clubs in Dublin. This is a way of sharing trip ideas, kayaking tactics, and most important introducing the freshers into kayaking society. This mixer is going to be a themed party to help break the ice and get people mingling! 

As DCUCC committee we believe this is an important event and also dilute any worries for our upcoming trips and as well as this it's a great opportunity learn about inter-varsities '23 which is going to be held in DUBLIN this year woooo!!

We will be bringing our members to Canoeing Ireland Training Centre where we will be kayaking in the River Liffey with a Canoe Ireland Instructor. We will kayak from the training centre to the weir at Palmerston. We will spend time kayaking in this area, before returning to the training centre.

This is a collaboration event that is being undergone by DCU Canoe, Surf n Sail, Sub Aqua, Sustainable Living Soc.

We have guest speakers joining us from Irelands marine pollution and environmental organisation Clean Coasts!

They will be talking all things plastic and Irish marine pollution and will be filling us in on their new amazing Irish Campaign 'think before you flush'

This event is perfect for all who are lovers of the ocean and are keen to become more sustainable to save our fabulous planet! You won't want to miss it.
