Frequently Asked Questions

Sub Aqua Club FAQs
Can I dive abroad with this certificate?
Yes! The qualifications you gain with us are internationally recognised
Can I join in Semester 2?
*Please note new sign ups in semester 2 may not be able to participate in scuba diving activities. This is due to the requirement to attend and complete snorkel training during semester 1 before progressing to scuba. Please enquire for more information* We do have the option to join in semester 2 and play underwater hockey, or be involved in our social events.
How do I get in touch?
The best ways to find out more about Sub-Aqua is to either sign up on the mailing list or just simply reach out us! You can find us on Instagram too!
I have dived before with PADI or equivalent, do I need to train?
In order to dive with our club we need to know what level you are at. So if you already have another diving grade with another organization, all we ask is you do an equivalency test.
Do I need to have dived before?
Absolutely not! All we ask our trainees is to have a basic ability to swim and to express an interest to learn these new skills.
When do we train for scuba and snorkeling and Underwater Hockey?
We train every Thursday evening at 9pm. We meet up at the container at 7pm and then head over to National Aquatic Centre to learn essential dive skills. We also have fitness training every Thursday at 6pm in the DCU pool or Underwater Hockey at 9pm in the National Aquatic Centre
