About DJ Society

Formally the DCU Electronic Music Society, the infamous DCU DJ Society provides all aspiring DJs, on and off-campus, the opportunity to learn the basic skills, knowledge, and techniques needed to become a DJ. We strive to create a welcoming community for music-oriented and passionate people who share a similar interest in music and arts. Despite our name, we focus on a wide variety of aspects associated with the music industry such as graphic design, audiovisuals, music production, and industry networking. While some of our members have no desire to become a DJ, they enjoy the welcoming community of likeminded individuals we have created, who share the same musical interests and hobbies as them.

Throughout the year we provide mixing tutorials, allowing our members to get hands-on with industry club standard equipment and learn skills along with techniques from our dedicated tutorial officers. Our tutorials are suited to all skill levels - beginner intermediate and advanced, with the sessions often split to reflect differences in skill level between our members. Tutorial content ranges from the absolute basics of djing to everything you need to know.

Delve into the world of music production with live track breakdowns from not only some of Dublin’s most well-known DJ’s & producers but also your peers within the society.

Experience the music industry on an international level with our internal trips, previous locations include London, Glasgow, and Berlin. Notable events we have attended include:
Mall Grab presents Nonstop Feeling @ Hangar, London
Bicep (Live) @ Fabric, London
