It was a crisp, dry morning in West Dublin this weekend as the Autumn Open International Cross Country took place, showcasing top Irish and international athletes vying for glory at Abbotstown.

Our athletes delivered impressive performances, with Amy Greene finishing 10th in a highly competitive senior women’s field, while Ellen McLoughlin secured 38th place. In the senior men's race, Cathal O’Reilly battled his way to an impressive top-6 finish, claiming the title of the first U23 athlete across the line, while Michael Murphy put in a solid effort to secure 14th, despite a busy travel schedule.

However, the standout performance of the day belonged to DCU alum Keelan Kilrehill, who dominated the men’s race with a commanding final lap, securing a convincing victory.

All eyes now turn to this Saturday as we head to UCC for the IUAA Cross Country Championships, ready to bring the Badger and Cheetahs back to Glasnevin!
